The Baltimore Ravens need to get a deal done with quarterback Lamar Jackson.
He is their franchise player, and letting him walk in free agency would be a massive mistake.
But, the Ravens have no interest in letting Jackson leave.
Worst case, they can franchise tag him and keep him in Baltimore for at least next season.
But, no player likes playing on the franchise tag because it is only a one-year deal with no long-term security.
So the Ravens and Jackson are nothing hoping to get a deal done with the franchise tag deadline on Tuesday.
Luckily, even if they franchise tag Jackson, both sides can still work out a long-term deal.
The tag will just be used as a safety net in case a deal is not made.
According to Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley, Lamar Jackson wants to get a deal with the Ravens.

Jackson is not looking to play anywhere else, but the contract has to be right.
Jackson reportedly wants a deal north of what Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson got.
Watson was given a fully guaranteed contract, and Jackson is looking for something very similar.
Jackson was the 2019 NFL MVP, and that alone should give him plenty of leverage.
But, Jackson has only played in 12 games each of the past two years.
So that is one cause for concern in the Ravens’ front office.
He relies so heavily on his legs that he gets injured more often than other quarterbacks.
But, if the Ravens let him go that will be a massive mistake.
