The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the best run offense teams in the NFL.
Much of the credit goes to their outstanding offensive line and their talented running back unit.
Unfortunately, that corps took a hit when both J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards suffered season-ending injuries during last offseason.
If those unfortunate incidents did not happen, there’s a possibility that they could both have had 1,000 rushing yards in 2021.
With a glaring need imminent, the Ravens signed Devonta Freeman and Latavius Murray to man their backfield.
While their efforts were solid, the production wasn’t the same with the Dobbins-Edwards tandem.
However, Ravens fans might be in for some glimmer of good news courtesy of head coach John Harbaugh.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said he’s “hopeful” that RBs J.K. Dobbins (knee) and Gus Edwards (knee) as well as OT Ronnie Stanley (ankle) will be ready for the start of the regular season. None have practiced this offseason.

ESPN’s Jamison Hensley shared that Harbaugh is “hopeful” that Dobbins, Edwards, and offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley will be able to play once the 2022 season starts.
That day is less than three months away and they will be a big boost to the team’s cause.
Last year, the Ravens endured injuries to some of their top players.
Initially, they were able to withstand the absences and posted an 8-2 record.
Unfortunately, those injuries took a toll via a six-game losing streak that eliminated them from playoff contention.
Ravens Running Attack Will Be A Problem When In Full Strength
Baltimore has a potent attack from the backfield because they wear opponents down.
Their offensive line creates huge gaps that Dobbins, Edwards, or any other running back can exploit.
Even quarterback Lamar Jackson has free rein thanks to those men upfront.
Without this point of attack, it would be difficult to see them become successful.
Their run game helps them maintain balance with their offense, making them more unpredictable.
