After shockingly parting ways with longtime head coach Jeff Fisher in 2016, the Los Angeles Rams decided to make a bold move to bring in first-time head coach Sean McVay.
The 30-year-old McVay had been around the league for quite some time before taking on the head coaching gig in Los Angeles, most of his time being an offensive coordinator in stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then-Washington Redskins.
It was a risk for the Rams, as McVay had yet to prove himself and the face he was taking over for veteran coach in Fisher.
However, after a few successful seasons and a Super Bowl title, the Rams got it right with McVay, as he’s considered one of the best coaches in the league today.
During an interview with NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, general manager Les Snead talked about how McVay made an impression right out of the gate in his introductory press conference.

Although the Rams are coming off a rough season in which the team struggled to defend its Super Bowl title, the team still has a lot of faith in McVay, and few would disagree with the team sticking with him moving forward.
However, the Rams have made some drastic changes this NFL offseason, including trading star corner Jalen Ramsey and passing on the opportunity to bring back superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The Rams will look much different next season, and it remains to be seen whether this team can compete in the NFC, but with McVay on the sideline, this team will always be a threat to make some noise.
