The Las Vegas Raiders are facing a ton of pressure to make the postseason in 2021.
Jon Gruden has been the head coach since 2018 and the best record his group has mustered was the 8-8 finish last season.
That puts GM Mike Mayock on the hot seat to build a winner, and potentially Gruden on the hot seat as well if owner Mark Davis doesn’t like the direction the team is headed.
However, that 10-year, $100 million contract is something to keep in mind.
The best part about being the owner is that you can’t get fired.
Davis can throw his money around, the team can lose, and he still wins in the end.
Just look at the brand new stadium he built in Las Vegas.
Is he hurting financially after the move from Oakland?
The answer is a resounding “no” and Davis has decided to go a step further in his new home state of Nevada.

That is quite the monstrosity of a home in the middle of the desert.
A Familiar Looking Home
Davis already gets to call Allegiant Stadium his own, so he decided to make his actual home a similar looking structure.

In general, this is just a cool picture to see.
However, it is fair to scoff at such a house given the current state of the world with COVID-19.
But Davis is a very, very rich man and can use his money how he wants.
His home is so ridiculous you may even be able to see it flying into Vegas, confusing it for the stadium his team calls home.
Pressure On The Field
The Raiders can finish 0-16 and not much would change in Davis’ life.
Yet no one in the organization wants that to happen because for once, the owner seems to be sticking with some consistency in terms of leadership.
Whether the chosen leaders are the best fit is a question that will answer itself in time, and perhaps even this year.
And what about Derek Carr?
He is 30 years old and the Raiders have not won a playoff game with him under center.
In fact, the team has not won a playoff game at all since the 2002 AFC Championship Game.
Wholesale changes could come if the Raiders stink it up and finish worse than last year’s 8-8 record this time around in 2021.
As for Davis?
He may be more focused on building his mansion and settling into life in Las Vegas as he continues to rake in a fortune as an NFL owner.
