The current NBA season isn’t even over yet and already there are rumors about who will be the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
One of the names being tossed around as a possible replacement for current HC Frank Vogel is Philadelphia 76ers coach Doc Rivers.
However, the latest reporting suggests that Rivers could go in a couple of directions depending on what’s next for Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder.

Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report says that Rivers is being thought of as a possible replacement for the Jazz if Snyder is no longer with the team following this season.
For months now there has been speculation that Snyder could be on the move if the Jazz don’t go far this year.
This is the latest and biggest confirmation that those rumors could be legitimate.
Doc & Danny Together Again
The loss of Snyder would be a huge shakeup.
Not only because he has been a major part of the team during these last few pivotal years but also because he’s a talented coach who would be a hot commodity on the market.
The idea of Rivers taking his place actually makes a lot of sense.
As pointed out, Rivers was the head coach for the Boston Celtics under Danny Ainge who is now the current CEO of the Jazz.
These two reuniting would be music to the ears of any Utah fan.
If Rivers does come to Utah, Snyder going to LA seems even more likely.
He would be a great acquisition for that troubled team and could go a long way to making their next season far, far better than this one.
Obviously, a lot is up in the air but one thing is for sure: there will likely be some big coaching changes in this offseason.
