With negotiations finally picking up pace, the MLB lockout may soon be over.
Of course, this is not a given, and several things need to happen in order for a new CBA to be finalized.
We could still have to wait a while.
The two sides are still aways apart on a number of important issues.
But if we do, Papa John’s Pizza may have a solution that could cure all the problems caused by the work stoppage.
This morning, the pizza chain jokingly tweeted that they would be hiring MLB players as delivery drivers in case the lockout isn’t resolved soon.
Hey, pro ball players! Too much time on your hands these days? Get out of the dugout and into some dough when you sign-up for an exciting new position at Papa Johns (more exciting than right field, at least). Apply here today: https://t.co/XMTCUi4vR4 pic.twitter.com/lPCWUELB2K

Potential Solution?
It’s nice to see Papa John’s doing their part to try and clean up the mess.
It’s good that they seem to have a solution for baseball players while they wait for the next CBA to be hammered out.
But it just goes to show how pointless the lockout really is.
The fact that the players are locked out is ridiculous, and there was no need for the owners to implement it in the first place, especially if a deal gets done in the next couple of days.
The two sides have been at it for a long time, with negotiations finally picking up speed yesterday, lasting up to 13 hours before they were done for the night.
This type of urgency to get things done would have been great to see prior to the lockout, and obviously would’ve helped stop it from ever happening.
At least now there’s hope it could get done relatively quickly, but it still leaves everyone wondering what took them so long.
If this continues though, the players are lucky to have Papa John’s as a backup plan.
