The San Diego Padres have made some drastic improvements in recent years.
Just a decade ago, they were a team that was constantly near the bottom of the National League West division.
But soon, the team began to take steps towards improvement, adding some key talent via trades and free agency.
Now, the team is a perennial postseason contender and has the talent necessary to potentially bring a World Series title back to San Diego for the first time in franchise history.
On Twitter, two photos show just how far the Padres have come in recent years, comparing the attendance number to their fanfest in 2015 to that of 2023.
Love to see this! You attempt to win and make moves to improve the team and your fanbase becomes more active, who woulda thunk.

Obviously, as seen in the photos, more people showed up this year than in 2015.
That is because at the time, the Padres hadn’t quite taken the next step in order to become a clear contender.
Now, the Padres are coming off of an 89-win season and their first trip to the NLCS since 1998.
Much of that has to do with the talent on the roster, much of which has come either via trades or free agency.
For example, Manny Machado was signed to a 10-year, $300 million contract back in 2019.
The Padres have also traded for stars such as Juan Soto, Brandon Drury, Josh Bell, Trent Grisham, Yu Darvish, Joe Musgrove, and Blake Snell.
The front office has invested in the future of this team and the effects have been pretty positive, as seen in the photos.
The Padres now have a strong team in place that looks prepared to contend for years to come.
