Of the surprising storylines of the 2022 NFL season, Brock Purdy was one of the most notable, and unexpected to boot.
Entering the season, Purdy was the third-string quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers after Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo fell due to injuries.
Purdy made the most of his opportunity.
While he was able to find success in the first two games of the playoffs, he suffered an elbow injury during the NFC Championship.
Purdy recently underwent surgery on his elbow and displayed his arm in a recent photo.

Purdy was seen out and about, posting a photo with one of his friends.
This injury has a long recovery period, and many have said that Purdy will not be ready to go when the season begins.
In everything that Purdy has exclaimed thus far, he is going to do everything he can to defy the odds and be ready for the season opener.
Purdy’s success last season came as a surprise to the 49ers, who will now have a difficult decision to make.
Assuming Purdy and Lance are both fully healthy, who will the team go with?
Lance was the third overall pick in the 2021 draft, and Purdy was the very last pick in the 2022 draft.
Conventional wisdom might dictate that Lance is the probable starter, given his high draft capital.
However, given Purdy’s success during the regular season and playoffs, the team might need to make a difficult decision about their starter moving forward.
