The Philadelphia Phillies came ready to spend this offseason.
Now they’re ready to win and make some noise in an ever-competitive National League East division.
After all, they went out and signed Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos, adding two big power bats to Philadelphia’s lineup and boosting their chances at being a serious postseason contender now that the playoff format has been expanded from 10 teams to 12 teams.
Though they’ll face a ton of stiff competition from the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets, they want everyone to know that they are serious about contending, and on Twitter, they posted a picture of Schwarber and Bryce Harper shaking hands in the clubhouse, reminding everybody of their new dynamic duo.

Phils Ready To Win
This should be encouraging for Phillies fans, who haven’t tasted the postseason since being eliminated in 2011.
This team looks dangerous and ready to finally make some noise, hoping to end their 11-year postseason hiatus.
Their lineup features Harper, Schwarber, Castellanos, Rhys Hoskins, and JT Realmuto, all players who are All-Star caliber and can help the team make a run at an NL East title or at least a Wild Card.
The Phillies also have a solid top three in their starting rotation, with those three being Aaron Nola, Zack Wheeler, and Kyle Gibson.
The NL East is certainly going to be a fun division to watch in 2022, with three teams at each other’s throats and ready to compete in a super competitive division.
The NL East didn’t have much clout in 2021, but with three teams spending aggressively, there is sure to be some excitement in 2022.
Philadelphia may now finally have the team they need to compete for a championship and end their playoff drought.
