Aside from left-hander Carlos Rodon, there are several other solid starting pitchers on the free agent market.
Names such as Nathan Eovaldi, Noah Syndergaard, Michael Wacha, and others come to mind.
One of those three played a key role in the Philadelphia Phillies getting back to the World Series for the first time since 2009.
Syndergaard was a mid-season acquisition, coming to Philadelphia from the Los Angeles Angels at the trade deadline.
On Twitter, one Phillies fan expressed his desire to have Syndergaard back in red pinstripes in 2023, citing some solid postseason statistics on behalf of the veteran right-hander.
Syndergaard has a 2.62 ERA in nine postseason appearances, six of which were starts.
Noah Syndergaard has a 2.62 career ERA in 9 appearances in the playoffs (6 starts).
Although the pitching market is at an all-time high, bringing Thor back on a friendly deal as a bullpen piece is an absolute no brainer. #RingTheBell pic.twitter.com/qjwCEfCf4D

The Case For Thor
The 30-year-old was relegated to the bullpen for the postseason, but had a solid 2022 season.
The right-hander won 10 games during the regular season and posted a 3.94 ERA in 25 appearances.
He also recorded 95 strikeouts and a 1.25 WHIP in 134.2 innings of work.
The Phillies do have Aaron Nola under contract for one more year and also have Zack Wheeler at the top of their starting rotation.
Ranger Suarez is another solid piece in their rotation.
They still are in need of another piece, however.
This where Syndergaard comes in.
Starting pitching is a hot commodity this offseason, and costs are high.
But Phillies owner John Middleton certainly has the financial resources to add another pitcher to his roster for 2023.
The Phillies were largely carried by their pitching in the postseason, having dusted the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Wild Card Series with back-to-back gems from Wheeler and Nola.
