When you go on the road to play the Philadelphia Phillies, you can always expect to hear more than your fair share of taunts and jeers.
It’s just the nature of the Philadelphia crowd.
Nobody is safe from being roasted at Citizens Bank Park.
The Houston Astros can certainly attest to that, having received a ton of jeers and taunts from Phillies fans last night during Game 3 of the World Series.
Many were giving them an earful over the cheating scandal that came to light a few years ago.
According to Stephanie Apstein of Sports Illustrated, there was a mix of booing and taunts, with fans chanting “cheater” for Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, and Yuli Gurriel, and “check his bat” for Martin Maldonado.
Good mix of jeers tonight: "Cheater" for Altuve, Bregman, Gurriel, boos for most everyone else, "Check his bat" for Maldonado. More variety than we see most places.

Phillies Fans Have A Field Day With Astros
The Phillies fans were ruthless on Tuesday for Game 3.
Regardless of where the Astros go, they’ll be subjected to taunts and boos over what took place in 2017 and the years that followed.
No fanbase is going to give them a break, except for their own.
Philadelphia fans especially are going to give them a lot of grief, and they came out in full force with a variety of taunts and jeers for the Astros to hear.
They didn’t hold back, and they certainly won’t hold back for Games 4 and 5 of this series.
It’s just the reality that the Astros are forced to live with.
Those are the repercussions of their actions.
But one thing is for sure.
Opposing fanbases will never give the Astros a break and they’ll come up with some hilarious taunts.
