The Philadelphia Phillies appear to be a team that is well-positioned to spend some money this offseason.
One player that may be on the team’s radar is shortstop Trea Turner.
Turner is one of four premier shortstops available on the market along with Xander Bogaerts, Carlos Correa, and Dansby Swanson.
Philadelphia won 87 games in 2022 and captured the third National League Wild Card.
They then went on a magical run to the World Series, reaching that stage for the first time since 2009.
On Twitter, one analyst made a free agency request to the Phillies, saying that this week would be a good week for them to sign Turner.
The 29-year-old hit .298 in 2022, popping 21 home runs and driving in 100 runs.
this week is looking like a real good week for the phillies to sign TREA TURNER

Demanding That The Phils Sign Turner
With Bryce Harper likely out until after the All-Star break as he recovers from Tommy John surgery, the speedy shortstop would be a huge addition for the Phillies and might even make them instant favorites to go back to the World Series.
This would allow the Phillies to slide Bryson Stott over to second base.
Perhaps there was a reason behind the team declining Jean Segura‘s club option for the 2023 season.
But whether Harper is active or not, the Phillies would certainly benefit from having Turner around.
He and Harper were teammates with the Washington Nationals from 2015-2018.
The speedster would give them a threat on the basepaths, a solid defender, and of course, an impact bat.
Turner, Harper, Kyle Schwarber, J.T. Realmuto, and Nick Castellanos in the same lineup is enough to strike fear in opposing pitchers.
