The National Football League is more pass-happy than ever these days, with the rules favoring quarterbacks and wideouts left and right.
But that doesn’t mean that running backs aren’t a crucial part of the game, and even though they’ve been treated as disposable and replaceable assets, they’re still quite valuable.
With that in mind, both PFF and NFL players put together their lists of the top-three players at the position entering the season.
However, it seems like they couldn’t get on the same page.
PFF chose a very interesting trio featuring Nick Chubb, Derrick Henry, and Christian McCaffrey.

Chubb has established himself as a true workhorse back by leading the Cleveland Browns offense throughout their struggles in the passing game.
Henry was a late bloomer but became a dominant and unstoppable force of nature once he finally found his footing.
And McCaffrey is the ultimate dual-threat running back, with injuries being the only thing capable of holding him back.
Then, the NFL’s Top 100 list has Josh Jacobs, Austin Ekeler, Derrick Henry.
Jacobs is perhaps the most underrated running back in the game, a true unit that’s pretty much the only hope the Las Vegas Raiders have of making the playoffs this season.
As for Ekeler, his work out of the backfield and as a pass-catching back has given Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers’ explosive offense the ultimate escape valve.
But at least, they can both agree that Henry is a top-three running back in today’s game.
