With the 2023 NFL season just around the corner, most insiders and analysts are already firing their bold predictions and hot takes left and right.
Peter Schrager of Good Morning Football isn’t the exception to that rule, and he recently raised plenty of debates on social media with this top-5 breakout WRs predictions for the upcoming season.

At No. 5, Schrager went with former Clemson standout Justyn Ross, who might finally be ready to showcase his skills after a foot injury forced him to miss his entire rookie season.
Health has always been the lone concern and issue about Ross, a talented playmaker who’s already drawn praise from both Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, so him staying healthy could lead to a massive rookie campaign.
Tyquan Thornton got the nod at No. 4, which isn’t exactly a surprise.
New OC Bill O’Brien will reportedly make the second-year playmaker a focal part of their offense, and Mac Jones having a bounce-back year will also help him be in a position to succeed after a quiet first campaign in the league.
Schrager chose Drake London as the third-likeliest candidate to have a breakout season, which also makes some sense.
London was dominant despite being a part of a run-heavy offense with Marcus Mariota under center, and even though Desmond Ridder isn’t a huge improvement, the Atlanta Falcons are expected to throw the ball more often in 2023 with him at QB.
Chris Olave gets the nod at No. 2, as a full season with Derek Carr should be able to take his already-impressive numbers even higher.
And, obviously, Garrett Wilson strikes as the likeliest breakout candidate.
He’ll now have Aaron Rodgers instead of Mike White, Zach Wilson, or Joe Flacco throwing him the ball, so this one’s pretty self-explanatory.
