Every year, the NFL gives out several awards to the league’s top players.
The MVP award is the most prestigious, but it has quickly turned into a quarterback-only award.
The last time a non-quarterback won league MVP was in 2012 when running back Adrian Peterson took home the trophy.
For non-quarterbacks, the next-most coveted prize is the Offensive Player of the Year Award.
In the past few years, this has been given to the likes of Justin Jefferson, Cooper Kupp, Derrick Henry, and Michael Thomas.
When looking ahead to the 2023 season, Peter King has recently predicted San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey to win this prestigious award.

McCaffrey joined the 49ers during the 2022 season, making an immediate impact on their offense.
He has been given high praise throughout his career for his ability to rush efficiently while also being a receiving threat.
With an offseason to prepare with his new team, McCaffrey’s role will likely be more defined heading into 2023.
He has been given plenty of time to gain chemistry with his fellow offensive playmakers, adapting to their style of play.
If he can stay healthy, King’s prediction could come true.
Many have regarded McCaffrey as one of the best running backs of the past decade, but health has been a problem throughout his career.
There’s no telling what McCaffrey’s stat sheet could look like with a full season in San Francisco.
Will King’s prediction come to fruition, given the recent hype around the 49ers to make a deep run in the NFC?
