The New Orleans Pelicans shocked just about everyone on Tuesday night when they took down the first-seeded Phoenix Suns in Game 2 of the first round of the playoffs.
The 125-114 victory for the Pelicans was not expected, as most analysts say the Suns are the odds-on favorite to win the series easily.
However, as Pelicans writer Jake Madison pointed out, New Orleans is ready to take on the challenge.
No one on this Pelicans team is scared of the moment

On Twitter, Madison said, “No one on this Pelicans team is scared of the moment.”
Following Tuesday night’s game, it’s hard to argue with Madison’s point.
Pelicans Pride
The Pelicans are proving like they have something to prove – and they do.
New Orleans has been counted out all season long.
Few people believed the team would be competitive this year without star player Zion Williamson.
For a while, those people looked correct as the team struggled at the beginning of the season.
But head coach Willie Green believed in his squad and knew that they had a ton of potential.
He relied a lot on his youngest players and continued to foster an environment that allowed Brandon Ingram and other breakout stars to thrive.
The plan worked and the team kept grinding out victories, eventually making their way into playoff contention.
After securing a spot in the play-in tournament, the team fought even harder and then secured the eighth seed in the West.
This is a team that has been fighting non-stop for months now.
Nothing has come easy for them and they’ve always known their backs were against the wall.
That attitude has gotten them to this point and it’s helping them against the Suns.
The Pelicans have a lot of fight in them and that’s taking the Suns by surprise.
