The MVP Awards for both the American League and National League will be announced on Thursday night.
In the National League, two St. Louis Cardinals teammates are battling it out for the award.
The race consists of Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, and Manny Machado.
Goldschmidt is the favorite to win the award.
During the regular season, Goldschmidt came close to Triple Crown territory, finishing with a .317 average (third in the NL), 115 RBI (second in the NL), and 35 home runs (fourth in the NL).
On Thursday, Goldschmidt has a chance to add the NL MVP Award to his resume on the heels of winning the Hank Aaron Award, the NL Most Outstanding Player Award, and being named a Silver Slugger.

Goldschmidt’s Unforgettable Season
It’s been a year to remember for Goldschmidt.
The Cards slugger led the National League in slugging percentage (.578) and finished second in on-base percentage (.404).
Goldschmidt also was the starting first baseman on the National League All-Star squad in July.
The 35-year-old overcame a slow start in the month of April and helped carry the Cardinals to their first NL Central division title since 2019, posting a .982 OPS along the way.
Goldschmidt had a total of 178 hits, 41 doubles, and 324 total bases during the 2022 season.
Similar to Aaron Judge in the American League, Goldschmidt looks to be the clear-cut favorite to win the award in the National League.
If he wins the award, he would be the first Cardinals player to win it since Albert Pujols in 2009.
Arenado also remains a possibility, but Goldschmidt appears to be the clear favorite.
