Though Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner has grabbed many of the headlines in the past few days, reigning National League MVP and St. Louis Cardinals slugger Paul Goldschmidt has certainly enjoyed some success.
On Sunday, he had a game to remember in the World Baseball Classic against Cuba.
His heroics have guided Team USA throughout the tournament, and now the team is just one win away from repeating as WBC champions.
On Sunday, he hit a home run and picked up a single, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored.
On Twitter, Bally Sports Midwest, the TV home of the Cardinals, posted Goldschmidt’s final line from Sunday.

The reigning MVP is back at it again.
He is one of four members of the Cardinals competing with Team USA, joining Miles Mikolas, Adam Wainwright, and Nolan Arenado.
And each Cardinals star did their part as Team USA rolled to a 14-2 blowout win, eliminating Cuba and advancing back to the final.
They will now await the winner of Monday’s game between Mexico and Japan.
But Goldschmidt’s heroics helped back up a strong start from Wainwright, who pitched four innings and allowed just one run.
Following Wainwright’s exit, Mikolas took over and delivered his own four-inning, one-run outing.
Goldschmidt was a part of Team USA in 2017 when they won the WBC, and now has a chance to experience that glory yet again.
Tuesday’s game will take place at 7 p.m. Eastern Time as Team USA fights to defend their title and remain on top.
