The World Baseball Classic is set to get underway in just a month.
March 8 will be the day that the legendary event makes its triumphant return after it was put on hold in 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
But the pandemic is now waning, fans are back in the stands, and we’re set for some baseball.
One player in particular couldn’t wait to get back and experience the fun again.
Paul Goldschmidt, the reigning National League MVP, was a part of Team USA in 2017 when they won the title.
The St. Louis Cardinals slugger discussed what it meant to him to return to the WBC and his excitement to be back.

Goldschmidt will be joined by his former Arizona Diamondbacks teammate in pitcher Merrill Kelly and current Cardinals teammates Nolan Arenado, Miles Mikolas, and Adam Wainwright.
He and Arenado were both on hand for the WBC in 2017, when Team USA captured its title.
Clearly, Goldschmidt had the desire to compete again and experience the fun of the Classic.
The Classic is typically played every four years, but due to the pandemic, things changed a bit.
Six years later, the WBC is back and Goldschmidt can’t wait to be a part of it once again.
The feeling of winning the Classic is clearly something that the reigning NL MVP enjoyed.
Now, he’ll have the opportunity to do it again with Arenado, who was also part of the team in 2017, as well as Wainwright and Mikolas.
We’re only a month away, and things are getting exciting.
