The Los Angeles Clippers weren’t expecting to be fighting so hard against the Houston Rockets on Monday night but they found themselves on the verge of being defeated by that lottery-bound team.
Without Kawhi Leonard on the floor, the team needed another star to step up and make some pivotal points.
Paul George heard the call – and he was ready for it.

George put on a clinic Monday, scoring 35 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and an incredible 6 steals on Halloween.
Most importantly and impressively, George sank two clutch shots in the final 40 seconds of the game to give the Clippers a 95-93 win at home.
They didn’t want the game to be that close but a win is a win and George made fans very happy with how he performed, no matter how small the margin ended up being.
King George
George wasn’t intimidated by the situation of the depleted roster going into Monday night, saying, “Regardless of who is in the lineup and who’s not, I am more than capable of going out and performing and willing our team to wins.”
Sure enough, George didn’t care that Leonard wasn’t playing or that the Rockets were better than expected.
He just put his head down, played hard, and came up clutch when his team needed him most.
Monday night’s win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Clippers, who were supposed to be championship contenders this year.
The season is still young and the team is capable of great things – the Finals are nowhere near out of reach – but fans are a bit worried about this uneven start.
George’s performance does a lot to calm them and remind everyone that the team still has one of the best players in the league.
