The New England Patriots might be looking for a new quarterback.
They have third-year player Mac Jones under contract, but he has not shown much in his NFL career.
It would make perfect sense for the Patriots to look for an improvement at the most crucial position.
One player they could make a play for is Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
He has accomplished much more than Jones and is still in the prime of his career at 26 years of age.
Some reports have surfaced that the Patriots were shopping Jones.
But, Mark Daniels says he does not see that happening.
I talked to three NFL sources about the Patriots 'shopping' Mac Jones.
One said "That's news to me." A second said the Pats haven't contacts the Bucs. A third said the Pats haven't reached out to the Raiders about Jones, either.

We rarely see a team move off a competent starter.
Most teams are satisfied with good quarterback play instead of paying up for great.
That is also part of the reason why some teams remain the same from year to year.
Jackson would be a substantial improvement over Jones and the Patriots should be aggressive to make it happen.
Starting Jones again in 2023 would be admitting that you are fine with a .500 team.
The AFC is too talented to continue putting out good players and expecting great results.
It would be smart for the Patriots to look for an upgrade at quarterback, but they most likely will not.
In a salary-cap league, Jones is getting paid almost nothing.
For that reason alone he will most likely remain in New England for next season.
