Unless you’ve been following the NFL since he started dating Taylor Swift, you may already know that Travis Kelce is one of the greatest players in his position.
That’s why Kansas City Chiefs fans got a big scare when he left the field with a noncontact ankle injury in the first half of the game vs. the Minnesota Vikings.
Fortunately for his fantasy football managers, he was able to return after halftime and had a big day for the reigning Super Bowl champions.
With that in mind, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes praised him and his toughness after the game, stating that he’s the kind of competitor who will go out there and play if he has even the tiniest chance to suit up, regardless of the pain or whatnot.
Kelce caught a short pass early in the second quarter and went down without being tackled.
He grabbed his lower leg and needed help getting back on his feet.
He had already missed the season opener due to a hyperextended knee, and he needed some time before shaking off a hitch that made people think he wasn’t going to be back in the game.
Kelce was eventually back on the field and grabbed a four-yard score late in the third quarter for the Chiefs’ final touchdown of the afternoon.
He finished the game with ten grabs on 11 targets for 67 yards and one touchdown, taking his tally to three for the season.
Now, the Chiefs will likely take it slowly with him as they get ready for a divisional matchup with the Denver Broncos.
