The Kansas City Chiefs are set up for years because of the fact they have Patrick Mahomes as their starting quarterback.
Mahomes has established himself as the best quarterback in the NFL and he has shown no signs of slowing down as he and the Chiefs are expected to make another deep postseason run.
The defending Super Bowl champions had a hiccup in Week 1 when they lost their home opener to the Detroit Lions, but they bounced back in Week 2 with a hard-fought victory on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Mahomes was back to carving up defenses as he threw for 305 yards and two touchdowns, looking much more in rhythm with Travis Kelce back on the field.
At this point, these kinds of performances are routine for Mahomes who always finds a way to get the football into the hands of his receivers.
A day after the win, Mahomes agreed to restructure his contract and he reacted to the news via his Twitter account.
“Thank you God!” Mahomes tweeted.
Thank you God! 🙏🏽

Equity Sports, Mahomes’ agency, announced that he and the Chiefs agreed to restructure his deal to guarantee him $210.6 million between 2023 through 2026.
That is the most amount of guaranteed money over a four-year period for a player in NFL history.
Mahomes originally signed a 10-year, $450 million extension in 2020 but this update now pays him even more in guaranteed money.
The numbers might be jarring to look at at first, but there’s truly no number that can be considered too much for a generational talent like Mahomes.NEXT: Isiah Pacheco Makes Confident Statement After Beating Jaguars
