Patrick Mahomes and the Chicago Bears will always be tied to each other.
That’s because the team decided to pass on him to get Mitchell Trubisky instead, a mistake that keeps fans up at night to this very day.
It took them a while, but the Bears finally found the guy that could’ve made them forget Mahomes and what could’ve been.
But thus far, Justin Fields doesn’t look happy in the Windy City, calling out his coaches and struggling to be at his best on the gridiron.
That’s why Patrick Mahomes took some time to offer him a piece of advice amid his struggles.
According to ProFootballTalk, the Chiefs star told Fields to trust his instincts and his talents, stating that he’s there for a reason and that he’s already made several big plays at both the collegiate and professional levels (via Dov Kleiman).

The Chiefs will look to get their record to 2-1 while the Bears are still looking for their first win of the season.
Fields has failed to make some obvious reads, but he’s never been at his best when he’s been forced to stay in the pocket.
Also, as much as someone could look to blame him for the team’s offensive struggles — which would be insufficient and unfair — their defense simply cannot get a stop, and he doesn’t have anything to do with that.
The Bears have now dropped 12 straight games, all while allowing more than 25 points against in every single one of those matchups.
That’s not a winning formula.
