Long before Patrick Mahomes‘ arrival, the Kansas City Chiefs were an early playoff exit more often than not and a team that hadn’t found much success when it came to the postseason.
The Texas Tech product has made sure to change that, becoming one of the league’s most impactful quarterbacks ever and putting together a Hall of Famer kind of résumé despite not being around the NFL for that long.
Mahomes has the whole package to be considered the most talented quarterback of all time.
It’s not only the trick plays, the scrambling ability, or the arm strength and accuracy; he also has that ‘it’ factor that can make a player go from ‘great’ to ‘legendary.’
Pat proved it again on Sunday during the AFC Championship Game win over the Cincinnati Bengals, adding more numbers to one of his most impressive personal records.
According to NFL insider Field Yates, Mahomes now has three lead-changing drives (to tie or take the lead) with less than 1:00 minute left on the clock in the playoffs, with no other quarterback registering more than one.
After Sunday's last-second win, Patrick Mahomes has now guided 3 lead-changing (tied or took lead) drives in his playoff career that began with 1:00 or less on the clock.
He's the only player in NFL history with more than 1, per @EliasSports.

Mahomes has now put together 13 fourth-quarter comebacks and 14 game-winning drives in the regular season, as well as two fourth-quarter comebacks and three game-winning drives in the playoffs.
It seems like you can never count Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs out of any game, regardless of how big of a deficit they’re facing.
Hopefully, though, they won’t put themselves in that position on February 12 when they face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
