Last offseason, some Philadelphia Eagles fans, and insiders called out the team for sticking with Jalen Hurts.
Hurts had shown glimpses of great play during his brief tenure in the NFL, yet some still doubted whether he could be the right guy to lead the franchise going forward.
He took a massive leap this season, making the most of his weapons and proving that he could be that guy, but he still had one major test to pass: the Super Bowl.
And even though the Eagles couldn’t beat the Kansas City Chiefs, Hurts had an epic performance and should have put all the doubts to rest.
At least, that’s what Patrick Mahomes thinks:
“If there were any doubters left, there shouldn’t be now,” Mahomes said of his colleague.

Hurts ran for three touchdowns and threw for another.
He did fumble the football on a game-tying score in the first half, but he still managed to put up 35 points on the Chiefs’ defense, topping them in both passing yards and total yards as well.
This is a game of inches, and a crucial call late in the game wound up sealing the Eagles’ fate, and it had nothing to do with Hurts.
He’s now expected to get a massive payday, with some speculating that he could be the next to join the list of the $50 million per year quarterbacks.
And, of course, this loss will haunt him for months, but Hurts has proven to be resilient enough to bounce back from anything, and the Eagles will be a powerhouse in this league for years to come.
