The Minnesota Timberwolves are officially going to the playoffs after taking down the Los Angeles Clippers in the play-in game on Tuesday night.
Tuesday night capped off one heck of a season for the T-Wolves, who had only 23 wins last year and have experienced multiple seasons of being out of playoff contention.
The team got rowdy after their big win, parading around the court as if they had just secured the Larry O’Brien trophy.
This caused some people online to make fun of Minnesota but Wolves star Patrick Beverley took to Twitter to explain why they were so elated.
We celebrating because MINNESOTA DESERVES THIS. A LOT OF PAIN THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS. BE HAPPY FOR US 🐺❤️🐺❤️🙏🏾

“We celebrating because MINNESOTA DESERVES THIS. A LOT OF PAIN IN THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS. BE HAPPY FOR US,” Beverley told his followers on Tuesday night.
The brash, in-your-face point guard has a point: Minnesota and its team deserve some light and joy.
The Wolves Are Wowing Us
This will be only the Timberwolves’ second playoff appearance in 17 years, which is reason enough to be excited.
However, Beverley was right when he said that Minnesota has been through some tough times lately.
He is likely referencing the pain and unrest the state has gone through with the death of George Floyd and the protests following it.
For the last few years, Minnesota has consistently been in the headlines for depressing reasons.
In a world full of such turmoil and trouble, a playoff run for the Timberwolves is a great way to add a bit of happiness back into the city.
The Timberwolves have come alive this year and are playing better than they have in years.
It remains to be seen if they will actually make it far in the postseason but they will definitely be playing with serious enthusiasm and explosiveness.
No matter what happens, it’s going to be fun.
