The Los Angeles Lakers have only claimed one preseason win over the last couple of weeks but they also showed a lot of promise.
There were a few Lakers players who really shined, such as Austin Reaves, Kendrick Nunn, Anthony Davis, and, of course, LeBron James.
Another LA athlete who got the crowd on its feet was Patrick Beverley.
As you remember, some Lakers fans were very cautious and even annoyed when Beverley was signed to the team in the summer.

However, they are likely singing a different tune now.
On Wednesday night, Beverley pleased the fans with a terrific play that saw him stealing the ball from the Minnesota Timberwolves, making his way up the court, then tossing the rock to James for an easy and fun two points.
This is the sort of stuff that people want Beverley to deliver often.
It also fires up the Russell Westbrook haters.
Picking Patrick
The play of Beverley to James was a blast to watch and exactly what the Lakers should be focusing on in the months ahead.
It has left many asking why we didn’t see more like this in the previous season.
Why wasn’t Westbrook creating marvelous assists and lobs like the one Beverley did on Wednesday?
When Beverley was traded to LA, some people thought that he would be doing all the things that Westbrook didn’t – or can’t.
This is a prime example of that.
Beverley has fit into the team’s lineup with ease and has even tried to nurture the team’s chemistry and culture too.
This could go a very long way to helping the team’s chances of returning to glory in 2022-23.
