The Los Angeles Lakers made a huge mistake when they got Patrick Beverley.
The often-controversial guard never seemed to fit in their scheme, struggling offensively and failing to make an impact on the defensive end as well.
Beverley talked a lot — as always — about wanting to lead the Lakers to the playoffs and whatnot, but it didn’t last long.
And now that he’s joined his hometown team Chicago Bulls, he’s made the most of every single opportunity to take uncalled-for shots at his former team, teammates, and fan base.
That was again on full display during Sunday’s Bulls win over the Lakers.
Beverley talked trash throughout the whole contest, telling LeBron James that he was ‘too small’ to guard him and then poking fun at NFL legend Shannon Sharpe by telling him the Lakers stink.

Sharpe is a well-known Lakers — and LeBron — fan and can often be spotted sitting courtside during Lakers games, even infamously getting into a heated altercation with the Memphis Grizzlies earlier in the season.
Beverley had already called Lakers nation out for ripping him on social media, and he revealed that he had actually requested a trade away from the team midseason.
However, and as good as a defender as he is, it’s kind of hard to take a guy like him seriously, given his long history of hot takes.
The Bulls still need to fight their way into the playoffs, and so do the Lakers.
So, it’ll be interesting to see how things pan out and who gets the last laugh here.
