The San Diego Padres have been without their best player, star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., all season.
Tatis suffered a wrist injury in a motorcycle accident during the lockout and was unable to consult team doctors.
The Padres have still been a dangerous team this season, even without their superstar, as they lead the Wild Card race by three games over the San Francisco Giants.
But without Tatis, they have been forced to rely on Ha-Seong Kim at the shortstop position.
So far, there haven’t been many updates on the status of Tatis, as reported by Padres insider Dennis Lin.
Ryan Flaherty said there was no update yet to share on Fernando Tatis Jr., who had a CT scan on his wrist this morning.

Friars Playing The Waiting Game
It seems as if the Padres are keeping quiet about Tatis right now.
The original prognosis was that he would be ready by some point in June, but clearly, it’s taking longer than that, and it seems as if Tatis has had a setback or two along the way.
Even so, they’re right with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West.
But things would certainly be a little easier if Tatis was active, and as of now, there aren’t any updates on his status and when the Padres think he’ll be ready for a rehab assignment, if that’s the route they end up taking.
The 23-year-old hit .282 last season with 42 home runs and 97 RBI while posting an OPS of .975.
In any given year, Tatis could be a clear MVP candidate, but the Padres have yet to see him in action to this point.
We’ll see if there are any updates in the near future about their star shortstop.
For now, it seems as if it’s going to be somewhat of a waiting game before we hear anything.
