Adams, who was franchise tagged by the Packers weeks ago, said he wouldn’t play on the franchise tag.
He let people know he was looking for a long-term deal, not a one-year tag to the team.
With the trade to Las Vegas, he now has that long-term deal he was looking for.
While the Raiders were the ones to make that offer, the Packers did agree to match the offer.
However, Adams would choose to head to the Raiders with the deal they offered him if the trade went through.
Even more shocking was that Rodgers knew about the trade before he signed his contract with the Pack.
The contract he signed restricted his current contract and extended it, helping the team with cap space.
But that help they got for cap space wasn’t in time to keep Adams around in Green Bay.
Who’s To Blame For Rodgers Deal Not Coming Sooner?
Everyone is pointing fingers at who to blame for the departure of Adams.
The team knew Adams wouldn’t play, so they figured it would be best to trade him.
Rodgers has called Adams his boy but didn’t do anything ahead of time to stop him from leaving.
The Packers were cutting players to get under the cap for 2022.
But they didn’t rework Rodgers’ contract until after the NFL 2022 season started.
Had they done a deal sooner to save cap space, a long-term agreement with Adams could have happened.
But it isn’t just on one person or the team for this happening.
There is equal blame to be shared by Rodgers and the Packers front office.
Both sides knew the cap issues the team was having going into 2022.
Rodgers could have come to the team to rework his contract after the playoffs to help keep Adams in Green Bay.
The Packers also had time to reach out to Rodgers on this matter.
However, neither side did anything until it was too late even to matter.
Could Adams Feel Betrayed By The Packers And Rodgers?
We know that Rodgers got his money and a long-term deal before Adams got officially traded.
We also know that Rodgers knew what the Packers were doing before signing the contract.
So from various reports, Aaron Rodgers knew about the Adams trade before he signed on the dotted line – presumably there's more to the plan in terms of adding weapons for him to throw to but it does kind of appear that he's more about the $$$ than the 💍💍💍

With Adams being such a massive part of the success of both the Packers and Rodgers, could he feel betrayed by them?
Going to the Raiders pairs Adams up with his former college teammate.
Was that the determining factor with Adams in the deal?
Or did he feel like Rodgers put money over their working relationship in Green Bay?
We don’t know if these things were why he left, but we know Carr and Adams have a past working relationship.
Adams Happy To Be In Vegas
Adams now gets to play ball with his old quarterback from his days at Fresno State.
Adams happy with his money and playing with his college QB, in Vegas. Tough division but I think he’ll love it

They had a great working relationship there, which Adams might be seeking out for 2022.
He also set NCAA football records when Carr passed him the ball in college.
Whether he’s in Vegas for Carr or to set records, we know he is happy where he’s at now.
