The Green Bay Packers brought in Sammy Watkins to help compensate for the production lost when Davante Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Unfortunately, he was placed on injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury.
He ended up playing two games and has six receptions for 111 yards.
However, as Pro Football Focus writer Ari Meirov shared, he can return to action soon.
The #Packers have designated WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) to return from IR, per HC Matt LaFleur. He will practice today and the team will have 21 days to officially activate him.

Meirov tweeted, “The #Packers have designated WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) to return from IR, per HC Matt LaFleur. He will practice today, and the team will have 21 days to officially activate him.”
Watkins’ return will add another target for reigning Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers.
Through six games, the Packers lacked a legitimate deep play threat, and none of their receivers went above 300 yards.
Watkins can be that big play guy Green Bay needs, and his presence will open up their offense even more.
His imminent return also comes in good timing because Randall Cobb is expected to miss two to four weeks due to an ankle sprain.
Packers Fight For A Playoff Spot
The Packers are not the same dominant team they’ve been over the previous three seasons.
They do not have the top spot in the NFC North with a 3-3 record.
However, getting everyone healthy will help them proceed with a postseason push.
Their passing game will be at the forefront of getting their fourth playoff appearance in as many years under head coach Matt LaFleur.
Watkins, Allen Lazard, Romeo Doubs, and Christian Watson should be a solid receiving corps for Rodgers.
Meanwhile, they can return to having a winning record if they defeat the Washington Commanders in Week 7.
