By now, it’s very clear that the Baltimore Orioles are a whole lot better than all of us originally thought.
This is a team that could actually reach the postseason, as they sit just a game-and-a-half behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the final AL Wild Card spot at 69-61.
Their turnaround has been unprecedented, with young players bursting onto the scene and making an impact.
Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson are just a few examples.
But behind every great team is a great manager, and in the case of the Orioles, their manager Brandon Hyde, has reached the all-important 200-win milestone as a manager.
That’s a whole lotta dubs 🙌

Hyde Reaches 200 Wins
Hyde is no stranger to winning, having been the bench coach with the Chicago Cubs in 2017 and 2018, right at the height of their peak.
So naturally, he brings some good experience with him to Baltimore, where he’s managed since 2019.
But this is a big deal for him.
He is of course a younger manager, but with a young team in Baltimore, that makes Hyde the perfect fit to try and usher in a new era of Orioles baseball, an era that includes winning and success.
It would be especially cool if he managed to actually get them to the postseason this year after a few bad seasons.
Remember, the Orioles were projected by many to finish in last place in the American League East.
Now here they are right in the thick of the race, which puts Hyde in a good position to potentially win Manager of the Year.
For now, 200 wins will do just fine, but you can bet he’s got high goals for the month of September.
