On Saturday, a young New York Yankees fan attended a spring training game between the Yanks and the Baltimore Orioles in Sarasota, Florida.

The young fan, named Elijah, is said to be an avid baseball card collector, carrying a binder full of all the cards and autographs he has collected over his lifetime.

Sadly, it appears that Elijah lost his binder on Saturday at the game.

A fan put out a note on Facebook, alerting people in the area that Elijah had lost his binder.

Another fan tweeted a screenshot of the post on put it out on Twitter.

But those fans aren’t the only ones committed to finding Elijah’s binder.

If anyone saw Elyjah's binder at our game on 3/19, please share any info that could help us track it down! https://t.co/56IyogSSq0

Bigger Than Baseball

As the note on Facebook said, it seems that Elijah had dropped his binder on his way to get more autographs and it was gone seconds later.

Any fan would be devastated to lose such a collection of cards and autographs.

Most of us can attest to such a feeling when something important and of value is suddenly lost.

But in the ultimate act of kindness, the Orioles retweeted the one fan’s tweet which featured a screenshot of the Facebook post from the other fan.

It’s nice to see the Orioles performing an act of such kindness, especially for an opposing fan.

It’s the kind of thing you would want to see when something goes wrong for somebody, in this case, Elijah losing his binder.

But the Orioles are committed to help Elijah track down his lost binder and have it safely returned to him.

It would be a crushing blow for any fan to lose such as prized possession, but it’s still nice to see the Orioles taking the time to make sure Elijah gets his binder back.
