The Baltimore Orioles were one of MLB’s worst teams from 2017 to 2021.
It was an obscure period in franchise history.
That’s in the past now, though.
The future in Baltimore is very, very bright.
You can say with confidence that it’s already here.
“The future is now in Baltimore. Are the Orioles ready to take the next step?,” MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM tweeted with some quotes by GM Mike Elias.

“We think we got a real good shot to get into the postseason this year,” he stated.
That’s what you want to hear from an executive, owner, or manager.
The Orioles aren’t content with playing .500 ball like other teams.
They want to dream big, and they do seem to have the ammunition to make it happen.
Keep in mind it will be much, much more difficult than you think because they play in the same division as the New York Yankees, the Toronto Blue Jays, the Tampa Bay Rays (all playoff teams in 2022) and the Boston Red Sox (who reached the 2021 American League Championship Series and made several additions).
Since Elias took over the franchise before the 2019 season, he promoted change and did things the right way.
He made the Orioles’ farm one of the best in baseball and promoted and developed top stars like Adley Rutschman, DL Hall, Ryan Mountcastle, Dean Kremer, Felix Bautista, and Cedric Mullins in recent seasons.
Help is also on the way, as Grayson Rodriguez and Colton Cowser could contribute in 2023.
The Orioles will be scary good soon, and “soon” might mean starting this year.
