Trey Mancini has been a feel-good story in recent years.
The Baltimore Orioles slugger returned last year after a bout with colon cancer caused him to have to sit out the 2020 season.
Mancini is now back to full strength and ready to do some damage this season.
Orioles fans have fallen in love with their star ever since his cancer struggle began, but his contract is up at the end of the 2022 season, and Orioles fans are concerned that this may be the last year they see Mancini in an O’s uniform.
During his first at-bat last night in the Orioles spring training matchup with the Boston Red Sox, Orioles fans could be heard yelling “Pay the man”.
"Pay the man!" a fan yells as Trey Mancini steps in for his first plate appearance of the evening.

A Fan Favorite
It would be a heartbreaker for Orioles fans to see their slugger go elsewhere.
He’s been through everything with the Orioles, including his cancer battle, and there’s no doubt Orioles fans don’t want to let him go.
He has become a fan favorite and somebody to rally around for that team.
Of course, there’s no telling whether or not the Orioles are going to extend him.
Baltimore fans certainly hope so.
Losing him would sting for the fanbase.
This could be his final year in Baltimore.
Perhaps he gets traded to a contending team at the trade deadline.
Baltimore is not likely to be in contention this year and their ace John Means is also in the final year of his contract.
It’s unlikely the Orioles will hold onto both players.
But in the meantime, all O’s fans want is for the front office to pay Mancini and keep him around for as long as possible.
