Oneil Cruz is yet another young player who is taking the league by storm early in his career.
The Pittsburgh Pirates certainly have a gem when it comes to this guy.
His hitting isn’t quite there yet.
Though he has hit four home runs and driven in 16, he’s hitting just .207.
But out in the field is where he is shining the brightest.
During the Bucs game on Wednesday night against the Miami Marlins at loanDepot Park, Cruz made one heck of a throw to nab catcher Nick Fortes at first base.
MLB tweeted a video and measured that throw from Cruz came out of his hand at 92.6 mph.

A Strong Arm
The hitting may not be quite there yet, but his defense and his arm sure are.
Not often are you going to see a player make a throw that fast from the shortstop position.
Cruz has one heck of an arm and he put it on full display last night in Miami.
It’s almost like the old baseball video game franchise “The Bigs.”
In those games, gamers could add a little extra “turbo” to their throws when throwing to a base to make it go faster and give the fielder a better chance at nabbing the running.
But of course, no actual turbo here.
Cruz just has an amazing arm and can pick a guy at first with extremely hard throws.
It’s quite impressive that he has the ability to throw the ball that quickly.
He’s not even a pitcher and he can go up to almost 93 mph.
That’s something to keep an eye on if you’re a baseball fan.
That arm will serve Cruz well as he continues his career.
