Believe it or not, the reigning champion Golden State Warriors were taken down by the Detroit Pistons on Sunday night.
This defeat left the Warriors with a 3-4 record, which isn’t what the team expected or wanted at this early point in the season.
It was a rough night for Golden State and there were multiple stars who dropped the ball, literally and figuratively.
But one player came to play and showed up in a huge way.

Jordan Poole racked up 18 points in the third quarter alone.
He was 5-of-6 from beyond the three-point line too.
The Dubs scored 36 points in the third quarter which means that Poole produced half of the team’s output during that period.
Poole and his buddy Stephen Curry were present and driven during the game – it’s too bad the rest of the team wasn’t.
Powerful Poole
Poole ended the game with 30 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists, showing that the third quarter was easily his most important and productive.
Curry scored 32 points for the evening and Andrew Wiggins got 10.
The rest of the team was all in single digits.
It’s surprising to see the Warriors have an uneven night like this but they haven’t gotten off to the best start so far this year.
As for Poole, he is playing like a young All-Star with an average of 17.9 points and 5.4 assists a game.
This comes after a very busy offseason that saw Poole in the midst of a controversy after being punched by Draymond Green and also receiving a huge payday when the team extended his contract weeks ago.
Poole wanted to make this season a special one to show his worth and help his team get back to the Finals.
The rest of the team might be struggling but Poole isn’t.
