The Baltimore Ravens won the Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes during the offseason, adding him to their roster.
This was a gamble for any team, as Beckham hadn’t played an NFL game since the 2021 Super Bowl when he tore his ACL.
Beckham returned to the field in the Ravens’ opener against the Houston Texans, compiling 37 yards from two catches.
Beckham shared his thoughts on being back in a postgame press conference shared by the Ravens’ official Twitter page.
“574 days I waited for this moment. I really want to say it’s an honor and a privilege to share the field with y’all,” Beckham said.

Beckham might not have lit up the score sheet in this first game, but his presence on the Ravens might not be about that.
He is a veteran leader on a team that has a lot of young players, including his quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Jackson was recently inked to a long-term extension making him the franchise QB for the foreseeable future.
While he is not a wide receiver, he can also benefit from what Beckham has seen during his time in the NFL.
Beckham played with Eli Manning during his time with the New York Giants, a likely future NFL Hall of Famer.
Zay Flowers was a big winner during this Week 1 contest, acquiring a game ball from head coach John Harbaugh.
He has certainly learned a lot from Beckham in the few weeks they have known each other, a relationship that looks to continue throughout the season.
