MLB umpire Angel Hernandez was the talk of Sunday night with his performance.

He had a generous strike zone for both pitching staffs in the Milwaukee Brewers – Philadelphia Phillies game.

The starting pitchers, Eric Lauer and Aaron Nola, finished with 22 strikeouts between the two, largely because they were excellent, both aided by Hernandez.

One bad call was not even close, which was a Lauer cutter that was at least six inches inside Phillies’ infielder Jean Segura.

“Umpire Angel Hernandez was the lowest rated umpire on the day, missing 19 calls for a correct percentage of 85.3%. He rang up 6 batters on pitches that were outside the zone and called a strike to Jean Segura that missed inside by a season high 6.47 inches,” the useful Twitter account Umpire Auditor wrote, with a clip of the aforementioned pitch.

The one miss that traveled the world in no time was the one to Kyle Schwarber, which resulted in a strike three that prompted an explosion from the Phillies slugger.

People on Twitter joked about Schwarber finally snapping and telling Hernandez the things that millions of baseball fans have always wanted to tell him.

Syndergaard Was Having Fun

But one player having fun with the whole situation was Los Angeles Angels pitcher Noah Syndergaard.

Known for his sense of humor on social media, “Thor” was taking things lightly, unlike Schwarber,

He wasn’t the one being unfairly called out on strikes, though!

“I’m here for Angel Hernandez strike zone FOREVER. #AngelsUnite,” Syndergaard tweeted.

Of course, he is a pitcher!

He would surely love the Hernandez’s strike zone.

All kidding aside, Thor is off to a terrific start this season.

After struggling with injuries for most of the last few years, he has a 2.12 ERA in three starts and 17 innings for the second-place Angels.

He was having some fun on Twitter Sunday night, though.
