The Los Angeles Dodgers have had a mostly quiet offseason to date, but their latest move suggests that more might be coming soon.
Late on Wednesday, Los Angeles signed veteran right-hander Noah Syndergaard to a one-year, $13 million deal.
According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, Syndergaard has a chance to make an additional $1.5 million in incentives.
The Dodgers had signed right-hander Shelby Miller to fill out a spot in their starting rotation at the beginning of the month, but have now added a key veteran presence to their rotation.
Jeff Passan and Bob Nightengale were the first to report the news of the Dodgers’ most recent signing.
The #Dodgers now hit the free agent market hoping to turn starter Noah Syndergaard into the Noah Syndergaard who once dominated with the #Mets.@JeffPassan on it. He gets one year deal.

Dodgers Add Thor
Syndergaard, 30, split time between the Los Angeles Angels and Philadelphia Phillies during the 2022 regular season.
The Halos had signed the right-hander to a one-year, $21 million contract last offseason.
With this deal, Syndergaard has a chance to prove himself.
The Dodgers are hoping that the righty can return to his old form as a top-of-the-rotation starter.
In 25 appearances, 24 of which were starts, the veteran righty won 10 games and posted a 3.94 ERA.
The Dodgers were in desperate need of a starter with staff ace Walker Buehler out for the entire 2023 season.
Buehler is recovering from Tommy John surgery.
The Dodgers already had Clayton Kershaw, Julio Urias, and Tony Gonsolin in their rotation.
In addition to Buehler being out until 2024, the Dodgers had lost lefty Tyler Anderson, who signed a three-year deal with the Angels.
Los Angeles may still need another starter, but adding Syndergaard and allowing him to bet on himself is a good start.
