Nikola Jokic won the NBA MVP trophy for two years in a row, showing just how dominant and powerful a player he is.
Indeed, there really isn’t anyone else like him in the entire league.
Conventional wisdom says that he won’t win the award again this season because so few players have secured it three times in a row.
Nikola Jokic over his last 10 games:
– 27.7 PPG
– 10.9 RPG
– 9.3 APG
– 64% FG%
– 70% TS%Over that span, he's top 15 in the league in points, top 10 in rebounds, and top 5 in assists 😳 pic.twitter.com/dQShhOQd7L

But when you look at the way Jokic has been playing this season, you can’t help but wonder why he isn’t at the forefront of the race for MVP.
Over his last 10 games, Jokic has averaged 27.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 9.3 assists on a 64% field goal percentage and 70% true shooting.
He is in the top 15 in points, the top 10 in rebounds, and the top 5 in assists.
So, again, why can’t he win MVP one more time?
Return Of The Joker
Last season, Jokic averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists.
This year, he is doing 23.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 9.1 assists.
His field goal percentage has increased to 62%, another sign of him not slowing down and only getting better.
He is putting up the sort of numbers that could easily nab him another MVP.
But most people feel that Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo have better chances of winning that prize.
That may be true, the league rarely gives out the award to the same player for three years in a row.
Still, Jokic’s mastery of the game is only becoming more solidified and he should be spoken of as one of the best big men the league has ever seen.
It doesn’t matter how many trophies he has, Jokic will always be known as one of the greatest centers to ever play the game.
