The NBA regular season is coming to an end.
The play-in tournament is just around the corner, and it seems like both conferences are up for grabs now more than ever.
But with the playoff pool mostly settled already, several analysts are getting way ahead of themselves in making their predictions.
That’s the case with FS1’s Nick Wright, who had a rather interesting take on the Western Conference picture.
Wright chose the Phoenix Suns as the third-best team in the West, citing that Devin Booker has been spectacular and that Kevin Durant will give any team a chance to win.
Then, he chose the Memphis Grizzlies at number two, stating that they’ll get Steven Adams back and that they’ve been one of the most consistent teams in the league all season.
Finally, Wright chose the Los Angeles Lakers — of all teams — as the best team in the West.
He claimed that a healthy LeBron James could take any team a long way and explained that they’ve looked much better with their new roster.

Of course, the Lakers look quite dangerous right now, but they haven’t even secured a spot in the playoffs.
They should be in the conversation if they make it past the play-in tournament, but this feels disrespectful to the West-leading Denver Nuggets.
LeBron is one of the best players in the league still, but he’s not getting any younger and having a 9th-seed as the No. 1 team in the conference is rather bold, even for a well-known James fan such as Wright.NEXT: Joel Embiid Just Had An Incredible Run In March
