The Philadelphia Eagles struggled to get to the Super Bowl for decades.
They hold one of the strongest, most passionate fanbases in the sports industry, yet they couldn’t translate that unmatched support into playoff success.
That all changed when Doug Pederson finally led the team to their most important victory ever, and against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots of all people.
So, now that Nick Sirianni has led the team back to the ultimate stage just a handful of years after that, it’s obvious that this game will be as important as the last one.
That’s why it was someone shocking to see a reporter asking the Head Coach whether he thought the upcoming Super Bowl was a ‘must-win’ game for him.
Obviously, Sirianni didn’t bat an eye at the question and simply answered ‘yes,’ although he seemed slightly in disbelief that someone would actually ask him that.

I mean, maybe he meant whether he felt like his job was on the line if he lost the Super Bowl — which obviously shouldn’t be the case — but how could you phrase a question like that?
You’re given the privilege and the opportunity to ask an NFL coach right before the Super Bowl anything, and all you can think about is whether the Super Bowl — yes, the biggest sports event in the United States and the game that determines whether you win a championship or not — is a must-win game?
What did he expect coach Sirianni to say to that?
