The Carolina Panthers have seen enough from Matt Rhule.
He arrived with much fanfare to the squad after turning the Baylor Bears into one of the top college football teams in the country.
However, he will not continue as the team’s head coach anymore after the announcement of his firing.
It was an inevitable decision, considering he went 11-27 with the Panthers.
That record includes their 1-4 start to the 2022 NFL season, wherein their latest loss was a 37-15 drubbing against the San Francisco 49ers.
His firing had some Panthers fans jubilant, hoping that the franchise will be set in the right direction.
FINALLY! Matt Rhule is GONE!

It’s not that the Panthers are devoid of talent because they have Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore, Robbie Anderson, and Laviska Shenault.
However, Rhule could not make it work, and even bringing offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo didn’t help.
After five weeks, the Panthers ranked last in total yards, averaging 271.4 yards per game.
They are 28th in passing yards with 181.6 per game, and 27th in rushing yards at 89.8 per game.
The Panthers are also 25th in scoring, putting up 18.6 points per game.
Aside from these numbers, this fan highlighted more of Rhule’s futility as Carolina’s head coach.

But even if Rhule is already fired, he is still owed a lot of money after signing a seven-year, $62 million contract in 2020.
Defensive passing game coordinator/secondary coach Steve Wilks will take over as the interim coach.
Rhule Going Back To College?
Returning to college football is a plausible option for Rhule.
After all, it’s a different beast from the NFL, and he has a great record while coaching Baylor.
Therefore, it’s likely that a football program will acquire his services.
OU should be on the phone with Matt Rhule's agent right now. #BoomerSooner

With Rhule gone, football experts are looking at the next NFL coach that might get the boot.
Joe Judge hired the same year as Rivera, fired.
Matt Rhule hired the same year as Rivera, fired.I’m tired of hearing all the excuses for why he will get all 5 years of his contract. You think Judge and Rhule didn’t have big money still left on their contracts???

Given that results highly matter in pro football, Rhule simply did not deliver as expected.
