The Indianapolis Colts suffered a shocking finish to the 2021 NFL regular season.
Carson Wentz played terrible against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the result was an ugly loss that knocked the Colts out of the playoffs.
This has fans and the organization wondering if Wentz is the right man for the job.
Head coach Frank Reich is even openly refusing to commit to Wentz as the starter next year.

NFL World Reacts To The Wentz Question
Wentz was never lighting the NFL on fire this season, but he was playing suitable football.
He finished the year with 27 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.
Yet he went 17/29 for 185 yards in a must-win game against Jacksonville.
Frank Reich says he and Chris Ballard walked out of Jim Irsay's office late Sunday night, saying "We've got *a lot* of the right pieces in place."

Wentz carries a dead cap value of $15 million in 2022.
After that, it goes down to $0 for the final two years of his deal.
The Wentz-Reich connection was supposed to provide magic in Indy after the two paired up in Philadelphia.
But the quarterback choked in his biggest moment and the head coach has to think about his own job security moving forward.

This is not where the Colts thought they would be this week.
The team had the easiest path to the playoffs and blew it, allowing the Pittsburgh Steelers to sneak in after Sunday night’s chaos.
The contract figure alone should mean Wentz is brought back in 2022.
But the Colts could always bring in competition, or even give Sam Ehlinger a shot, to avoid another collapse like the one seen in Week 18.
Don't get me wrong, Carson Wentz slander is deserved, but there needs to be a equal amount of Frank Reich slander as well. For the simple fact that you beat your chest, stood on the table thinking Wentz was the long-term solution. Not to mention the blown leads, etc.
