The offseason drama continues for the Green Bay Packers.
Aside from waiting for Aaron Rodgers‘ decision, those who are invested in the team are hoping that they retain Davante Adams.
Those two players complement each other so well, that even their choice to remain in Green Bay might depend on each other.
If the Packers sign Adams to a long-term deal, Rodgers will likely return and sign a short-term contract that will make him the game’s highest-paid player.
Otherwise, the reigning Most Valuable Player might leave and Adams might follow suit.
That’s why the Packers are expected to place the franchise tag on the receiver.
At least, Adams will surely stay in Green Bay for another season and both parties have more time to discuss an extension.
• If the Packers and WR Davante Adams are close to an extension, but are just not quite there, I’d expect him to be franchise tagged.
• If both sides are just too far off and don’t see it coming together, then that’s when I’d believe Adams will be testing free agency.

However, there’s a possibility that both sides won’t agree to terms to a new deal and that could be risky for the Packers, as this Twitter user pointed out.
There’s big risk if the Packers tag Davante Adams and a new deal isn’t on the near horizon.
If the two sides remain far apart, Adams could hold out, not sign the tender, not be eligible for trade, stay away until week 1 at no penalty, all while the Packers hold a $20M cap cost.

Worst yet, the Packers will look like a house of cards wherein if the talks with Adams stumble, Rodgers will likely ask for a trade elsewhere.
When that happens, Green Bay will have a difficult time filling the void that the two players left.
Adams To The Raiders?
If Adams ends up leaving the Packers, there are prevailing rumors that identify the Las Vegas Raiders as his likely destination.

After all, the Raiders badly need a receiver after Henry Ruggs III’s unfortunate exit.
Hunter Renfrow would be more comfortable on the field if someone like Adams is playing alongside him.
Likewise, he recently purchased a property in the Las Vegas area, fueling the rumors of a potential move to the Raiders.

If that’s the case, could it be that Rodgers is on the move to the Tennessee Titans after seeking some properties in Nashville?
