3 NFL Teams With No Shot Of Competing In 2022

The NFL has its fair share of teams set to fail in the 2022 season.

Some teams were thought to have a chance this season, but other NFL teams weren’t thought to succeed at all.

The reason for the potential failures of these teams varies.

However, there are three teams that stand out with no shot at competing in 2022.

3. Cleveland Browns

Browns fans have the worst luck ever.

They made the playoffs for the first time in 18 years during the 2020 season.

However, they are back in the losers bracket after mortgaging their future on Deshaun Watson.

It’s because he could be suspended by the NFL when dealing with his situation.

Without Watson at the QB position, the team would rely on backup Jacoby Brissett.

This is because the team’s former starting quarterback, Baker Mayfield, will most likely be playing for another team in 2022.

However, even if Mayfield is around, he probably wouldn’t want to play for the team that left him for Watson.

So this dooms the chances for the Browns during the 2022 season.

While they got fleeced by the Houston Texans, their fans are getting the shaft with another losing season on deck.

They are the first of three teams that won’t be competing this 2022 NFL season.

2. Detroit Lions

For years, the Detroit Lions have held up the NFC North.

This is from being the worst team in the NFC North division.

While some fans believe the latest Ford Family member to take over will bring wins to Detroit, they are sadly mistaken.

However, those fans point to the offseason moves under Shelia Ford, claiming the moves help the team.

Trading Matthew Stafford, only after they refused to give him players to help him win, wasn’t good for them.

But they got Jared Goff to replace him, someone with Super Bowl experience.

While he has an NFC championship ring, he only got there because of his defense, something Detroit doesn’t have.

However, fans believe local product, and second overall draft pick, Adrian Hutchinson is the answer.

He only produced during one season with Michigan and only with the help of teammate David Ojabo.

With this fact in mind, he could be a bust for Detroit, helping lead to more disappointment with the team.

1. Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons could have improved in 2022.

However, this season could be their worst season since 1967.

This is because they got rid of Matt Ryan, the team’s franchise quarterback, for over a decade.

They also lost their top receiver, Calvin Ridley, to a suspension for gambling on NFL games.

But the bleeding doesn’t stop there with them.

They also lost other key players to retirement and free agency.

Also, they never made improvements with the team during the offseason.

Everything that Atlanta has done, or hasn’t done in this case, shows a team that’s out of competing in 2022.

However, they might have some hopes for next season if they select the right players in the NFL Draft.

But until that day comes, Falcons fans will have to see their team at the bottom of the NFC South.
