The 2022 NFL Draft is just a little over one month away.

That said, teams are on overdrive to assess the prospects they would like to have.

Most franchises flocked to Indianapolis for the annual Scouting Combine.

Now, top aspirants are having their Pro Days to showcase more of their skills.

With Pittsburgh Panthers quarterback Kenny Pickett finishing his Pro Day, team executives turn their attention to the Liberty Flames’ Malik Willis.

NFL reporter Joe Person revealed the teams that have the most interest with the Georgia native.

Person tweeted, “Big Panthers contingent at Liberty for Malik Willis after going to Kenny Pickett pro day yesterday. Steelers’ Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin are here.”

The Carolina Panthers are in dire need of a quarterback after all of their options last year flamed out.

Sam Darnold isn’t the answer they were looking for while P.J. Walker and Cam Newton didn’t help much either.

The Panthers made a bid for Deshaun Watson, but lost to the Cleveland Browns.

Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been actively looking for a quarterback after Ben Roethlisberger retired.

While they’ve signed Mitchell Trubisky to a two-year deal, Pittsburgh would like to keep their options open by taking a good look at Willis.

A Diamond In The Rough

Willis’ passing numbers are not as impressive as Pickett’s.

However, his versatility makes him a dual-threat, much like Jalen Hurts, Kyler Murray, and Lamar Jackson.

His stock took off after transferring from Auburn to Liberty wherein he led the Flames to 17 wins in two seasons.

Willis also won MVP honors in both the 2020 Cure Bowl and the 2021 LendingTree Bowl.

In his last collegiate year, Willis had 2,857 passing yards and 27 touchdowns.

He also had 878 rushing yards and 13 scores from the ground.
