It didn’t take long for Chris Olave and Devin Lloyd to prove their worth in the NFL.
For that reason, the league is honoring them as Rookies of the Month for September 2022.

Pro Football Focus writer Ari Meirov tweeted, “Olave led all rookies with 268 receiving yards and ranked second with 17 catches in three games.”
He added, “Lloyd led all rookies with 24 tackles, and six passes defended and also had two interceptions.”
Olave was selected 11th overall by the New Orleans Saints, ten picks after top pick Travon Walker.
He started his NFL career with three receptions for 41 yards in their game against the Atlanta Falcons.
He had five catches for 80 yards a week later versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In his latest game, the former Ohio State standout had nine catches for 147 yards against the Carolina Panthers.
Olave tops the Saints in receiving yards with 268, followed by Michael Thomas with 171.
Before joining the Saints, he played for the Ohio State Buckeyes for four years.
He earned two First-Team All-Big Ten honors and one Third-Team All-Big Ten selection.
Olave had 65 receptions for 935 yards and 13 touchdowns in his final year at Ohio State.
Lloyd An Emerging Force For Jacksonville
It’s a great week for Jacksonville, starting with Trevor Lawrence being named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Then, Lloyd was the best defensive rookie in the opening month of the 2022 NFL season.
The 27th overall selection in this year’s draft has two interceptions, and six passes deflected in his last two games.
He leads all rookies in tackles after three games with 24 and is the only rookie with two picks and 15 tackles.
Meanwhile, his six passes defended is tied for first after Week 3 and leads all rookies.
Lloyd and the Jaguars will try to earn another victory in Week 4 when they face the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles.
